| Development study is one of important works of JICA. |
 |
| (a) Request
|
The government of the recipient country
makes a request for assistance for the selected project
to the Government of Japan.
This request is made through diplomat channels with the
submission of the request accompanied by the Terms of
Reference(T/R). |

| (b) Implementation
of Preparatory Study |
On the basis of the decision by the Government of Japan,
JICA dispatches a preparatory study term to the recipient
country.
This preparatory study team collect necessary basic data
and information. After the study, the Scope of Work (S/W)
is signed by both sides and exchanged.
Preparatory study is preparation for main study. |

| (c) Main study
|
| This stage is divided into two stages.
A master plan outlines the proposed development plan.
Feasibility study studies the individual projects planned
on the basis of the master plan. |
