The important factor that makes it possible to increase sewered population rate
	in Japan so high and greatly improve water quality of public water bodies in a
	short term is technology development. Technology development in Japan is
	conducted based on "Five-year Plan for Wastewater System Technology
	Development", like sewage works is promoted based on "Five-year Program for
	the Sewerage Construction".
	In this field, Research and Technology Development Division of Japan Sewage
	Works Agency has conducted research and investigation and developed lots
	of new technologies.
